Mothers,
You are not powering your batteries from your true feminine energy. You are drained, tired, shattered in fact, and disconnected. You have drifted away from your true energy and find yourself a prisoner in your own life.
Feeling resentment and then guilt for feeling resentment. You think you have to do everything for everyone, but never feel like you get anything in return. You are desperate for just a little appreciation and acknowledgment of all you do.
Spending all your time fulfilling everyone else’s wishes and needs – but remaining unfulfilled yourself.
You are looking outside of yourself to get your needs met.
But your partner, your children, your work, your roles in everyday life will not fill those spaces in you that are feeling dry and weary.
It is up to you to replenish your soul, your mind, your body, your energy… BUT HOW?
You think you can’t possibly add another thing to your to do list. So you ignore your innate wisdom and intuition and remain stuck in that never ending cycle of martyrdom for those you love, for those you want to be important to.
And slowly but surely you morph into the mother you vowed your never would be, perhaps your mother who never gave you what you needed, or did not know how to model the unconditional love of motherhood for you.
So you find yourself unable to love unconditionally, because you have placed conditions and expectations on yourself and those seep through into all the relationships around you.
Unable to receive the love that is available because of the busy-ness you have engulfed yourself in, the controls you have put in place to ensure perfection – and so those moments of connection and love drift by unnoticed because you are too busy trying to meet your exacting performance standards.
You will not let yourself stop, to rest, to simply enjoy without the need to fix or move onto the next eventuality that needs solving. So you fill your time and your expectations and probably years of your life by putting the needs of others before your own.
Discounting and side-lining yourself until you have to scream to be noticed. All because you have a role of motherhood that was modelled to you, portrayed to you by another woman who was also just doing her best at the time with what she knew and saw and felt was expected of her.
And will you also become the older women, the crone who cannot and will not listen to her adult child trying to tell her how let down, conditionally loved and overlooked she felt – because MOTHER was always too busy to look after and nurture herself as well as her relationships.
But my dear tired one – let me tell you about the mother energy – about the feminine energy that you are denying yourself by trying to prove your capabilities and living from a place of fear and survival.
It is like a river that just flows
It is like the trees that just know to grow and stand strong and tall.
It is the energy of mother earth, that holds all the power of growth and creation within her and yet just is.
She requires no posturing, no proving, no to do list – she just holds the space for all her creation.
Knowing deep in her soil, in the core of her what each and every energy that she supports requires of her.
Not because she runs after them and pushes them to grow, but because she knows herself and how she works, who she is, why she is and what she is – THE MOTHER.
Who holds space for all her creation by receiving the rain, basking in the sun, listening to and responding to the cycles of the moon and the seasons, knowing that everything has its time.
It may seem like a hippy analogy that has no place in the rat race of reality but it has more bearing than ever, especially when the rat race threatens to swallow up our children whole and use them as fodder for a system that promotes greed and violence.
I hear you say that you are but one mother and what difference can you make.
The mother energy is powerful,
it is strong,
it is expansive,
it is supportive,
it is nurturing
Firstly to and for herself to ensure she has the resources to hold and create life.
Your mother energy has no need to push or strive or fight.
You are a presence that flows with life, the seasons, the moon, the cycles of birth and death.
Your mother energy has no need to fight its corner – it simply is. Like a tree that stands because it is rooted and grounded, as you stand in your intuitive knowing of you, you will share that, give that, show that from a place of unconditional love.
Unconditional love that does not need someone else to prove that you are loved, loveable, and loving – because you choose this and accept it for yourself from a place deep inside you.
And from that place you have enough strength and presence to love all around you.
To support
To nurture
To guide but never push
To allow things to have their time
Flowing like the river into the ocean
Falling like the leaves off of the trees
Growing like the buds of the flowers
It’s beautiful
It’s feminine
You are all these things because the mother is held with in the divine trinity of the feminine and you have this within you already.
You may have spent a long time pretending otherwise, but it is there for you to access. Not with the masculine expectation of achieving, but with the feminine energy of allowing it to grow and become who you are.
Its time to let this shine, to allow it grow, to gift yourself with the choice to embrace the true mother energy you are.
Whether this was modeled well for you or not, you can choose to know it for yourself from that place within you that is and always has been connected to the divine feminine.
There are many places you can see this energy, experience this unconditional love, know this, but its starts with the choice to nurture it and grow it from inside you first.
